Gotta love old trucks. Replaced front wheel bearings on 63 F100 4x4 and then found previous owner had welded the leaf spring together..

Tire shop was a fiasco, but all's well that ends well. They were overworked and underpaid. Pic's of new BFG's are up. Feelin reliable again.

78-79 Bronco A/C Compressor Conversions

In order to build a AC/Air compressor you must follow three simple principles:

  1. You must have a need (or at least the need to point and say "hey guys, look what I built this weekend."
  2. You must have more time than money.
  3. It helps if you have most of the parts required sitting in your shop somewhere collecting dust.

The basic parts of the system are a stock type AC compressor with brackets, an air holding tank of some sort, pressure switch, relief valve and a on/off switch.

Story Of "The Bronco"

I have always wanted a Bronco.  A few weeks ago, I was looking through the Cars & Trucks section of Craigslist and found this 1986 Bronco for really cheap.  It has a fuel-injected 302 with an AOD transmission and a Borg Warner 1345 transfer case.  I was really shocked, after getting it home and spending a couple of hours cleaning it up with a pressure washer, that it had very little rust on it.  The worst part of the rust is in the roof.  The roof needs to be replaced anyway because the previous owner tried to drive under a low-hanging tree branch and dente

Story Of "The Flatbed"

I first saw this truck in a field at a guy's house that I worked for in 2001.  It was a 1984 Ford F350 with a 4-barrel 460, backed by a C6 automatic transmission, and a Borg Warner 1345 transfer case.  One day I asked him what he was planning on doing with it, if he wanted to sell it and, if so, how much.  Months went by and I never got an answer.  I asked him again and he told me that he would get back with me soon.  A couple of weeks later he came up to me with a proposition.  He had a 2-story tin shed full of junk that he wanted torn down because he wan
