This is an older model so it doesn't have one, just an electric shut off. And fuel is coming from the exhaust.@sstephens

Putting the body back on the frame

I haven't updated in a while.  I had trouble posting on the site but things seem to be working fine now.  The body is back on the frame with new body mount pads.  I decided to not use a rear bumper and am going with a rolled bumper pan look.  I built a rear bumper pan after modifiying an oldsmobile rocker panel.  I have also boxed a place for the license plate.  To complete the rear look I extended the fins to the bottom as well.  I made them to fit 56 chevy tail lights.

4 door to 2 door

When I first started my project, I was planning on restoring the Pontiac.   After thinking a lot about it though, I really wanted something I would enjoy more than a 4 door sedan with no AC.  I decided to cut the roof off and make the car a 2-door roadster.   I've always wanted an open top car.  I wasn't crazy about spending so much time and money on a car that I truely wouldn't enjoy.  So I committed to the concept and went ahead with the cut.  For people who prefer stock cars I know you couldn't believe I would cut

Putting the body on the rotisserie

Before getting started with the rotissirie, I decided to replace the stationary wheels with casters to allow me to move it around the garage. I then put the body on the rotisserie.  The adjustable forks I made worked great and the body went on the rotisserie with help of my engine hoist.

Painting the frame

Cleaned, sanded, and painted the frame last week. I found an old chissel worked pretty good in getting the really thick stuck on grease and mud.  Degreaser, greased lightning, more degreaser and a pressure washer followed by scotch bright and a lot of hot soapy water got the job done.

Filling the gap of the windshield frame on the Starchief Roadster project

After cutting off the roof, there was a large gap that needed to be filled between the external and internal sheet metal on top of the windshield frame.
