Am I getting more delusional or what??!!

Well, once again I have ghanges my mind on my next project, although the willys would look more cool, I like my ranger so well that i've decided to scrounge 2 or 3 more and build a crew cab 1st gen ranger with a few old bronco type styling ques. kinda like what i wish they'd built in '67. although it will probably still have a V/6 instead of the 289 that would really fill that bill. Now to start gathering parts. 'Course it's a lot to cheaper to just draw pictures and daydream....

The lovely ranger

As you can see, it is truly a thing of beauty what with the sledge & pickaxe custom bodywork, and paintball graphics, not to mention the slime green intake tube!

Ford Ranger

Well, My Blazer dream got de-railed by life and necesity, so my new projct is a ford ranger ext cab for work and play. Right now it's an ugly p.o.s. but it runs and drives, and has room for my wife and kids to come along without draggin out the mighty crew cab.

pinewood derby

Found a couple of pinewood derby cars I built about 15 years ago when I was a comander of the Royal Rangers (Read scoutmaster) At my church. Royal rangers is the ministry to boys of the Assemblt of God Church. Anyways, I didn't like the open wheel look so I cut out some 1/4" Lattice and glued 2 layers on each side to make a full bodied car. At competitions the other leaders would question the "legality" of them, but they are shorter wheelbase the rules say a maximum, no minimum, and are just under max weight.

salvage

My Neighbor Gordy left his wife because she wanted him to give up his drivers license, claiming he almost ran my son over. My son says no, I stayed on my bike on the side of the road and waved as he went by, just like Gordy says. Don't know who's right or wrong, but I helped Dick H. load up his tool boxes and such and Dick loaded his 59 f100 resto-rat on a tow dolly for him and he split for Fla. where his daughter lives. He told me to watch by his trash can for whatever she might pitch that would be useful, and his advice was good.

what to do

My mind just is reeling with new projects to start, but everything I think about  just seems to not be "it" for one reason or another....start with a 1st gen explorer to build a crewcab ranger, and build my own bed like a utility bed, but made to fit the truck and line up like an original bed......

No to Willys

Well, I decided not to trade my lathe for the willys, I had not looked at the passenger side well enough nor the windshield frame. The pass side b pillar is pushed in about 4 inches, and the door is fubar as well as being just about permanently one with the jam. The windshield frame looks as though they lifted it by that spot. Looks like more work than it's worth, and the Ranger stuff was not enough there either.

willys revisited

Well, it seems as though I can't get that thing of my mind, so I have come up with another idea - an extended cab pickup big enough for a funtional back seat. the number of doors remains to be decided, and the ranger frame is still there as well, and I can trade scrap metal for them rather than my lathe so I may be hauling the P.O.S. home come spring after all. If I'm gonna chop it up that much what's a little more body work to get the pass door and the windshield frame back in shape? I also plan on tool boxes built in like a utility bed, but made to match the cab, not a generic deal.

decisions - decisions

Well, today i made a deal to swap my antique lathe for an old willys wagon, and future junk for a basketcase '93 ranger with a 4.0 v/6. now, do I put the ranger back together for a better work truck, or just put the jeep on it? The old '87 ranger will either go under the willys or remain my work truck...... First gotta get the Dollhouse completed so I can move things around in the shop.
