38 Dodge Rat Rod Pickup

Your show is the best hands on hot rod show on TV. Your projects are what us hot rodders want! Just wanted to submit pictures of my 38 Dodge Rat Rod pickup for What You Are Working On. It gets thumbs up from grandmothers, smiles from kids, and some people just look at me like I'm out of my mind. It's a blast to drive and no one wants to race it! It should run in the 10 second range but it has such a short wheel base I can't hang in with it that long.  It's as scary as it looks to drive!

550 horsepower
512 cubic inch stroker motor
440 source aluminum heads and stroker crank
727 transmission with shift kit and 3200 stall converter
narrowed 9 inch Ford rear with 411 gears
4 link suspension with 31.5 X 17.5 Mickey Thompson street slicks
custom made headers with Dynamax race mufflers
custom tilt bed
chain drive steering
Dodge Dakota rack and pinion steering

I've been working on the rat rod for a year and half. With the help of my best friend Bruce Wright, we have added numerous custom details including:
barb wire and rebar grill
gargoyle hood ornament
skeleton hand muffler hanger
lighted skull air cleaner
electric scissor-jack bed lift
gauge cluster made from cupcake tin
antique locks and handcuffs for tailgate locks
coffin shaped shifter console
"Undertaker's Rod Shop" door script
wrought iron baluster grill shell supports
cemetery cross push bars on front frame rails
3 inch chop top - original steel 38 Dodge pickup cab

I'm 53 years old and still can't stop playing with cars. I hope to meet you at Dover Downs in July and bring the truck. I would love to have you sign my dashboard! Thanks! Keep buildin'em! I love the show!

To Cool, great job, Cant blame you on the race thing, all that horsepower and short weelbase Im bettn that it would be a hand full by the time you got to the end of a 1/4 mile.
