Hi Joe, remember the weak links on the 318. Timing chain and that carb. Oil pan became a leaker with age. Had a backfire and blew the bottom plate off the intake manifold. It part of the left to right heat exchange for cold starts. New Edelbrock stuff will cure that. The one thing you have to remember is it will not be a daily driver, get a second car or use Dad's. You will enjoy every minute of putting that car together and learn a life time of wrenching. Good Luck. Tom.

I know I have to clean shop b'fore workin' on my awesome new moter. Just stand clear when the leaf blower starts workin. (Oh, and watch for the big coon.)

I Love When a Young Man Hiss Age Loves Cars i had the same car when i was 17 it had a 170 slant 6 engine took it out and put a 340 Six Pack in it he is on his way to Build a Great Car!!!
